
Santa Rita Emergency Power System
Contract: $650,000 / Prime Contractor: Smith & Sons Electric
The Santa Rita County Prison is located in Dublin, CA and consists of 14 buildings designed to hold medium security prisoners. Smith & Sons Electric had the responsibility to install an emergency power and life safety system in all 14 buildings. Since these buildings were occupied at the time of our work the sequencing and security of our personnel was always our greatest concern. This project was completed on time and within the county's budget.
Dublin Federal Detention Facility
Contract: $1.2M / General Contractor: F&H Construction
The Federal Detention Facility located in Dublin, CA is a detention facility for the holding of federal prisoners. Smith & Sons Electric provided the complete power, lighting, communications, and security system for this facility. Since this project was a concrete poured in place and tilt-up construction, the layout and planning of the installation of our electrical components was critical to the construction schedule.
Fremont Detention Facility
Contract: $926,000 / General Contractor: West Bay Builders
Fremont Detention Facility is a 2-story poured in place Detention Facility with a full basement. Detainees are housed in concrete retaining rooms with full security and video observation systems. Smith & Sons Electric was contracted for both the building electrical and security systems. The construction was performed under the supervision of the State Bureau of Prisons.
Alameda County Juvenile Hall
Contract: $675,000 / General Contractor: Pankow Builders
This 30 year old detention facility was required to upgrade the visitation and inmate intake areas. At an operating high security facility, Smith & Sons Electric provided a complete power, lighting, security, and life safety system for this upgrade. The security system consisted of monitoring station, door security, guard duress system and CCTV surveillance.
